What happened to good singers?
Every time I tune into the radio, I am often disappointed by what I hear. The vast majority of pop singers that make millions nowadays are mediocre at best on stage. Who can we call good singers? Rihanna is one of the best-selling artists in the past decade, and while her voice is unique and she has the looks to back it up, I am constantly reminded of her awful live performances at Rockefeller Center in years past.

Is it sad that anytime I watch The Voice or American Idol or X-Factor, I always have to go look up Charice videos on YouTube afterwards to remind myself of why I no longer have the ability to enjoy these shows? The Charice Syndrome has got me bad man :( I can’t listen to other female vocalists now who try to attempt powerhouse songs cause the only thing in my head is- Charice sang it better and you can never top it!

Charice really grew on me, I think. I can’t even imagine being 19-years-old, having lost your estranged father to murder, feeling guilty enough as it is that you didn’t get some reconciliation, then on top of that people criticizing you for not forgiving your deadbeat father and calling you a hypocrite for crying when he died, THEN going up on stage about 3 weeks later to continue working and give such a musically A+ performance. I get it that she’s not everyone’s cup of musical tea, but you just have to respect a kid like that.
